Historically, numerous methods of threadlocking have been employed, ranging from a cumbersome combination of lock wires and split pins combined with nuts and bolts with holes drilled in them to washers, and thread distortion. Today, however, liquid threadlockers are increasingly being used to secure short-term, long-term – and even permanent – tightening with greater reliability.
