Retaining compounds and machinable shaft repair epoxies are two separate lines of Henkel products that can be used on rotating shafts & related assemblies. Retaining compounds are used to fasten cylindrical parts onto shafts and shaft repair products are used to remanufacture shafts that are worn beyond use. These products may interact when the shaft of a particular assembly has been repaired with epoxy and the parts need to be reassembled in such a way that LOCTITE Retaining Compound will adhere to an epoxy surface instead of a metal one.
