As the range of electric vehicles (EVs) continues to grow, a new challenge arises: the time it takes to recharge EV batteries. Despite considerable progress in charging technology, recharging an EV is still not as quick or convenient as refueling a gasoline-powered vehicle. Challenges include battery acceptance of large energy influxes, connector design, grid impacts, and power electronics for high-power systems.  Ultimately, the goal is to achieve charging times comparable to refueling at a gas pump, making EV adoption more appealing to consumers.
