LOCTITE® SI 587 is a metallic blue, oxime silicone paste used for gasketing and sealing applications in plant maintenance and various sized OEMs. As a form-in-place gasket/sealant, it has been designed to provide outstanding sealing performance against industrial and automotive engine oils. Its thixotropic nature reduces the migration of liquid product after application to the substrate - allowing for reliable quality control e.g. in dispensing automation as well as manual applications. This product is typically used in demanding applications up to 260°C (500°F).

How to use
Remove old gasketing material and other heavy contaminants with LOCTITE® SF 790 Paint Stripper.
Clean both flanges with LOCTITE® SF 7070 ODC-Free Cleaner & Degreaser.
Apply a continuous bead of LOCTITE® high performance silicones to sealing surface. Circle all bolt holes. Note: Use proper bead diameter to seal flange width and depth and minimize excessive material “squeeze-out.”
Assemble within 10 minutes by pressing together. Tighten as required.
Clean up any excess or squeeze-out.
Cure times will vary with temperature, humidity and gap. Typical full cure time is 24 hours.
