LOCTITE® 561 is an easily portable, semi-solid anaerobic-curing stick thread sealant for fine metal threads. It provides an instant low pressure seal; doesn’t creep, shrink or block systems; and is NSF approved. It’s a low-strength product for easy disassembly.

How to use
For best results, clean all surfaces (external and internal) with IPA 99% and allow to dry.
Advance only enough product to be used at the time of application. Remove any skin that may have formed on the top of the stick. Apply sufficient product to fill the threads in the area where the male and female threads will be engaged. Recap the product after use. Using compliant practices, assemble and wrench tighten fittings in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
Remove with standard hand tools. In rare instances where hand tools do not work due to excessive engagement length, apply localized heat to the nut or bolt to approximately 250°C and disassemble while hot.
Cured product can be removed with a combination of soaking in a Loctite solvent and mechanical abrasion such as a wire brush.

Yes, For best results, clean all surfaces (external and internal) with a LOCTITE® cleaning solvent and allow to dry.
LOCTITE® 561 should be stored in the unopened container in a dry location, with storage conditions indicated on the product container labeling. The optimal storage temperature is between 8°C and 21°C; storage below 8°C or above 28°C can adversely affect the product’s properties. Material removed from containers may become contaminated during use.
LOCTITE® 561 will be recommended for metal pipes, metal fittings, and potable water applications.
