TEROSON® LizardSkin Sound Control is a water-based acrylic sound-damping coating with a flat black finish. It has a high wet weight, and moderate solids content (50-55%). The product is suitable for use in applications exposed to elevated temperatures, but should not be applied in environments exceeding 149°C (300°F). Surface preparation requires a dry, clean substrate free of contaminants. Ferrous surfaces should be primed before coating, while clean non-ferrous surfaces can be coated directly. Under typical ambient conditions, the coating dries to the touch quickly and fully cures after a longer curing time.

How to use
Ferrous surfaces must be coated with a low gloss automotive primer. Other surfaces should be scuffed with 120 or higher grit sandpaper.
Surface must be free of oil, grease, dust, or any other contaminant. Re-clean with LOCTITE® SF 7840, a weak solvent-based cleaner (Isopropyl Alcohol or Acetone), or a diluted vinegar wash.
Attach mix paddle to variable speed drill. Mix product at a low RPM while moving the stir paddle up and down until product is consistently smooth.
Transfer TEROSON LizardSkin Thermal or Sound Control product into TEROSON LizardSkin SuperPro Kit sprayer cup by holding the bucket 8-10 inches above the cup.
Adjust air compressor to deliver 50-70 PSI at the gun.
Adjust spray tip by screwing in the nozzle until it bottoms out, then bring it back out 2 complete turns (720°). Tighten the lock collar.
Apply product in a crosshatch pattern (vertical, then horizontal passes) with slight overlaps.
Press Wet Mil Gauge (included in TEROSON LizardSkin SuperPro Kit) into wet coating. Application thickness should be 20mil (0.5mm). Do not exceed 24mil (0.6mm) thickness.
Test coat by pressing thumb against the coating with light to medium pressure and twist 90°; if coating does not stick to your thumb, repeat steps 7 & 8.
Allow the product dry for 36-48 hours at 23°C (73°F) before reassembly or top coating. Do not force dry with heat.

The product should be stored between 60°F and 90°F and must not be allowed to freeze.
