- Description
- Technical specification
- Question & answer
LOCTITE® PC 7319 forms a chemical resistant coating that protects equipment and concrete against extreme corrosion from chemical exposure, especially against sulfuric acid. It bonds well to all metal substrates and is suitable for service temperatures between -30°C to 120°C (-22°F to 248°F). It is typically used to prevent corrosion online tanks and chutes, chemical containment areas, concrete pits, tanks, floors, and foundations.

How to use
Clean, dry, and abrade the application surface, as more thorough preparation results in better performance; whenever possible, grit-blast the surface to a Near White Metal (SSPC-SP10/NACE No. 2) standard, while for less severe applications, roughening the surface with hand tools is acceptable. Finally, perform a solvent cleaning with a residue-free solvent to promote optimal adhesion.
Concrete must be cured for at least 30 days before application. All grease, oil, and dirt should be thoroughly removed by washing, and surface contaminants such as old coatings, loose concrete, and dust must be eliminated by dry abrasive blasting, water blasting, scarifying, or acid etching, followed by thorough rinsing. The prepared surface should be rough, free of excess water, and achieve a surface profile of CSP 3 to CSP 5 in accordance with ICRI Guideline 03732. All surface irregularities, including joints, holes, pores, and cracks, must be properly filled, and the concrete must be completely dry before applying the product.
The material temperature should be maintained between 18 °C and 27 °C. Mix the entire contents of resin and hardener, or for smaller amounts, mix 2.3 parts resin to 1 part hardener by volume, or 3.4 parts resin to 1 part hardener by weight, and then mix vigorously for 3-5 minutes until a uniform color is obtained.
Apply the fully mixed material to the prepared surface using a brush or a 3/8 in nap roller with a good core, and immediately clean any contaminated skin or clothing with soap and water.
Use an approved positive-pressure, supplied-air respirator when welding or torch cutting near cured compound, an approved self-contained breathing apparatus when burning, welding, or torch cutting indoors near cured compound, and an approved respirator for dusts and mists when grinding or machining cured compound. Do **not** use open flame on the compound. Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet for additional cautions.
Working time and cure of epoxies depend on temperature and mass, with higher temperatures and larger material masses accelerating curing. To speed curing at low temperatures, store the epoxy at room temperature and pre-heat the repair surface until warm to the touch. To slow curing at high temperatures, mix the epoxy in small masses and cool the resin and hardener components.
FAQ
LOCTITE® PC 7319 should be stored in its unopened container in a dry location. Material removed from containers may become contaminated during use, and liquid should not be returned to the original container. Follow any storage instructions indicated on the product container labeling. Optimal storage temperature is 8 °C to 21 °C, as storage below 8 °C or above 28 °C can adversely affect product properties.
The Coverage of this product is 6.8 m²/kg when applied at 0.5 mm thickness per 5 kg unit in uncured condition.
LOCTITE® PC 7319 is used for chemical containment areas, chemical resistance, chutes, concrete pits, floors, foundations, line tanks, and tanks.
