LOCTITE® AA 3979 is a 1-part, UV/visible light-cure acrylic adhesive gel that fluoresces red under UV light, making it ideal for medical device bonding applications where the fluorescent properties of the substrates hinder detecting the adhesives. It has a gel viscosity to fill large gaps and to prevent migration following application.

How to use
For best performance bond surfaces should be clean and free from grease.
The product should be dispensed using black feed lines. Cooling should be provided for temperature-sensitive substrates such as thermoplastics. Plastic grades should be evaluated for the risk of stress cracking when exposed to liquid adhesive. Excess adhesive may be removed using an organic solvent. Bonded assemblies should be allowed to cool before being subjected to any service loads.
Cure rate is dependent on lamp intensity, distance from light source, depth of cure needed or bondline gap and light transmission of the substrate through which the radiation must pass.
This product is light-sensitive; exposure to daylight, UV light, and artificial lighting should be kept to a minimum during storage and handling.

Yes, for best performance, bond surfaces should be clean and free from grease.
LOCTITE® AA 3979 should be stored in its unopened container in a dry location, with storage information provided on the product container labeling. The optimal storage temperature between 8°C and 21°C. Storage below 8°C or above 28°C may adversely affect product properties, and any material removed from the container may become contaminated during use and should not be returned to the original container.
The Fixture Time for this product is 15 seconds on glass slides using an electrodeless D bulb at 100 mW/cm² measured at 365 nm, and 5 seconds on glass slides using an LED flood light CL42 at 1,000 mW/cm² measured at 365 nm.
The Tensile Strength of this cured product is 18 N/mm² tested under ISO 527 - 3, at 100mW/cm², measured at 365nm, for 30 seconds using an electrodeless system, D bulb
LOCTITE® AA 3979 will be recommended for appliance components, consumer devices, medical devices, and NEV (New Energy Vehicle) applications.
