LOCTITE® 4011 is a fast-fixturing instant adhesive designed for the assembly of a wide range of materials where uniform stress distribution and high tensile and/or shear strength are required. Using primer LOCTITE® SF 7701, the assembly of difficult-to-bond (PP, PE, PTFE) materials is possible. In addition, it is suited for bonding porous materials such as wood, paper, leather and fabric. LOCTITE 4011 is tested to Henkel's ISO 10993 protocols for use in disposable medical devices.

How to use
It is recommended to use the correct LOCTITE® cleaner for the surface to be bonded (such as LOCTITE® SF 7070) to degrease and clean surfaces prior to applying the adhesive.
To improve adhesion on difficult to bond plastic surfaces, apply LOCTITE® SF 7701 to the bond area by brushing or dipping. Avoid applying excess primer. Allow the primer to dry.
If cure speed is too slow, use activator LOCTITE® SF 713 (see cure speed vs activator graph in TDS). Apply activator to one bond surface by spray, brush or dipping (not primed surfaces). Allow the activator to dry.
Apply adhesive onto one side/part.
Assemble parts immediately. The parts should be accurately located as the short fixture time leaves little opportunity for adjustment. Bond should be held or clamped until the adhesive has fixtured.Hint: if necessary, excess product can be cured by activator LOCTITE® SF 713. Spray or drop activator onto excess product.
FAQ
LOCTITE® Medical Device Grade Adhesives have been tested to Henkel's ISO-10993 biocompatibility protocols, making them candidates for use in disposable medical devices. They are not intended for implants and (invasive) prostheses.
ISO-10993 Biocompatibility Certificates of Test for LOCTITE® Medical Device Adhesives are available via our Medical Website or by contacting Henkel directly.
Yes, CA’s should be stored in the refrigerator prior to opening, but DO NOT refrigerate them once they have already been opened. After opening, CA's should be used within 30 days for best performance.
All necessary H&S measures and PPE (personal protection equipment) requirements can be found on the product material safety data sheet, all of which are available via our website.
This is a result of stress cracking. Uncured liquid CA remaining on some plastic substrate (such as polycarbonate, acrylic, and polysulfone) in a stressed condition may cause the formation of cracks in the plastic. Some remedies for avoiding/minimizing stress cracking are closing the bond joint quickly, use reinforced grades of plastic, anneal parts, or speed the cure of the CA with accelerator (or light for light curing CA products only).
This is called blooming. This often occurs when there is an excessive amount of product being applied. To avoid blooming, use proper ventilation, less product, lower humidity, use a primer/accelerator, or a low bloom product.
