How to use

1. Preparation - Cleaning

For best results, clean all surfaces (external and internal) with a LOCTITE^® cleaning solvent and allow to dry.


2. Preparation

If the material is an inactive metal or the cure speed is too slow, spray all threads with Activator SF 7471^™ or SF 7649^™ and allow it to dry. Shake the product thoroughly before use, and to prevent clogging in the nozzle, avoid allowing the tip to touch metal surfaces during application.


3. Application

For thru holes, apply several drops of the product onto the bolt at the nut engagement area. For blind holes, apply several drops of the product down the internal threads to the bottom of the hole. For sealing applications, apply a 360° bead of the product to the leading threads of the male fitting, leaving the first thread free, and force the material into the threads to thoroughly fill the voids. For larger threads and voids, adjust the amount of product accordingly and also apply a 360° bead of product on the female threads.


4. Assembly

Assemble and tighten as required.


5. Disassembly

Remove the component using standard hand tools. In rare cases where hand tools are ineffective due to excessive engagement length, apply localized heat to the nut or bolt to approximately 250°C and disassemble while hot.


6. Clean up

Cured product can be removed with a combination of soaking in a LOCTITE^® solvent and mechanical abrasion such as a wire brush.
