When optical clarity and excellent structural, mechanical and electrical insulating properties are required, try LOCTITE® EA M-31CL. This 2-part, clear, colorless to slightly yellow, low-viscosity liquid epoxy adhesive cures at room temperature and forms an ultra-clear adhesive bond line with excellent impact resistance and minimal shrinkage. It can be used for a wide range of applications, including bonding, small potting, staking and laminating applications. ISO 10993 approved for use in the medical industry.

How to use
For high-strength structural bonds, remove surface contaminants such as paint, oxide films, oils, dust, mold release agents, and all other surface contaminants, and use gloves to minimize skin contact; do not use solvents for cleaning hands.
For dual cartridges, insert the cartridge into the application gun and advance the plunger into the cylinders using light pressure on the trigger, then remove the cartridge cap and expel a small amount of adhesive to ensure both sides are flowing evenly and freely. If automatic mixing of resin and hardener is desired, attach the mixing nozzle to the end of the cartridge and begin dispensing the adhesive. For hand mixing, expel the required amount of adhesive and mix thoroughly for approximately 15 seconds after a uniform color is obtained. Join the adhesive-coated surfaces and allow them to cure at 25 °C for 24 hours to achieve high strength; heating up to 93 °C will accelerate curing. Keep the parts from moving during cure, as contact pressure is necessary, and note that maximum shear strength is obtained with a bond line thickness of 0.1 to 0.2 mm.
For maximum bond strength, apply the adhesive evenly to both surfaces to be joined, and ensure application to the substrates is completed within 30 minutes; larger quantities and/or higher temperatures will reduce this working time.
Excessive uncured adhesive can be cleaned up with ketone type solvents.

Yes, for high strength structural bonds, remove surface contaminants such as paint, oxide films, oils, dust, mold release agents and all other surface contaminants.
LOCTITE® EA M-31CL should be stored in an unopened container in a dry location, as indicated on the product container labeling, with an optimal storage temperature range of 8°C to 21°C. Storage below 8°C or above 28°C can adversely affect product properties. Material removed from the container may become contaminated during use and should not be returned to the original container.
The tensile strength of the product is 55.2 N/mm², measured according to ISO 527-2, under the condition cured at 25°C.
