Henkel Adhesive Technologies will showcase new solutions for efficient, safe and sustainable metal packaging at METPACK 2026. Highlights include digital equipment and service concepts to boost line performance, a new water-based sealant for beverage cans, and resource‑saving surface treatment technologies. At stand 1C38 (Hall 1), Henkel demonstrates how manufacturers can lower CO₂ emissions while maintaining high quality and increasing throughput.
Henkel’s new Bonderite E‑CO Equipment 4.0 delivers real‑time process data, automated reporting and precise control for more stable, high‑performance can manufacturing—even at peak capacity.
With advanced controllers, modular retrofits and enhanced remote services, Henkel enables greater transparency, efficiency and faster issue detection. The new CanLine audit app and data‑driven support further help can makers improve uptime and take preventive actions.
Henkel introduces Darex® WBC 4020, a next‑generation water‑based sealant for beer and beverage cans. Engineered for low applied cost, global consistency and stable supply, it uses a single worldwide formulation manufactured regionally to ensure reliable performance and minimize supply‑chain risk.
Henkel also expands its portfolio with phthalate‑free Darex® COV sealants, designed to reduce energy use and lower CO₂ footprint while ensuring safe, future‑ready can production. For food cans, Darex® WBC 9000‑63‑2 offers a formulation with no intentionally added allergens, eliminating labeling concerns and delivering the same specifications and output quality as its proven predecessor.
Henkel showcases how its latest surface‑treatment technologies help canmakers cut energy, water and chemical consumption without compromising quality or process stability.
The Bonderite L‑FM 831 series is a biostable, high‑performance, water‑based lubricant and steel coolant designed to reduce tool wear, minimize wicking and enable rinse‑only or simplified cleaning—supporting significant water and energy savings.
Henkel’s low‑temperature cleaner, the Bonderite C‑IC 72000 series, is now available globally, with APAC newly localized. It cleans beverage cans at temperatures as low as 43 °C, instead of the typical 60–70 °C, helping manufacturers lower energy use and CO₂ emissions. Both Bonderite C‑IC 72000 and C‑IC 62600 deliver significantly reduced foam, ensuring more stable rinsing and less maintenance.
