The result is the GSK Carbon Neutral Laboratory for Sustainable Chemistry.
Built primarily with mass timber, the two-storey building includes teaching and research laboratories, offices, seminars, and a winter garden.
With its own photovoltaic plant and energy-efficient infrastructure, it is built to be carbon neutral over its assessed life cycle.
