Solvent-based appearance, solventless speed

Henkel launches a line of high-speed adhesive, a breakthrough in solventless lamination offering solvent-based appearance and faster laminating speed. By removing drying, converters save on energy and operating costs, while improving worker safety and reducing adhesive usage, helping advance the future of flexible packaging.

High speed adhesive

  • A new lines of products designed for difficult to laminate structures like white print to metallized.
  • These systems have shown significant improvements in line speed vs. traditional systems.
  • Bonds to a wide range of substrates.

“This breakthrough in solventless adhesive technology delivers the speed and efficiency converters need while accelerating the industry’s move toward more sustainable, solvent‑free lamination"

New laminating adhesive to support the transition from solvent-based lamination

Reduces greenhouse gas emissions: By eliminating solvent drying, natural gas fired heaters are no longer needed. This reduces the usage of natural gas, eliminates resulting CO2 emissions and saves on operating costs.

Unlocks solvent-based appearance: This line of products provides solvent-based like appearance while delivering advantages of solventless lamination speed.

Enhances worker safety: Eliminating solvent does more than reduce fire risk, it also greatly improves operator conditions, reducing inhalation hazards.

Key converter benefits

No drying step:

Reduced energy usage, elimination of natural gas or electric driers, reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

Solventless process:

Improved worker safety and reduced adhesive usage.

Material efficiency:

Optimized adhesive application and waste reduction.

High speed:

Increase capacity, tap into solventless speed with solvent based appearance.

What can this mean for your operation?

By eliminating the solvent drying step, the process no longer requires natural-gas-fired heaters. This change reduces annual natural gas consumption by more than 100,000 m³, lowers lamination-related CO₂ emissions by over 85%, and delivers significant operating cost savings.
