TECHNOMELT® AS 8740 is a yellow transparent, synthetic rubber-based hot melt adhesive for general assembly applications in the cable industry. It’s typically used for bonding and coating aluminum or copper foil in multi-layer cable constructions. Its creep resistance temperature stands at 75°C to 85°C (167°F to 185°F), and it resists temperature to a softening point of 117°C to 133°C (242°F to 271°F). TECHNOMELT AS 8740 has an application temperature range of 160°C to 190°C (320°F to 374°F) and cures by physical setting into a thermoplastic condition of the bond area.
