After application, it forms a non-metallic, corrosion-resistant crystalline coating on iron and steel surfaces, leaving an excellent base for the adhesion of organic finishes and adhesives for rubber bonding. The oil-absorptive coating increases lubrication of the treated surfaces and permits rapid break-in of moving parts without scuffing, by preventing metal-to-metal contact between the bearing surfaces.
