IDH is the acronym for International Data Harmonization, it is used as the unique identifier for all Henkel products - think of it as a part number.
The IDH of each product can be found on the product label as well as all product documents.
A 5-digit part number is the old LOCTITE® part number (item number). An IDH number (International Data Harmonization) is the corresponding new Henkel part number associated with the LOCTITE® item numbers. It is a global numbering system, generally composed of 6-digits with some exceptions.
The LOCTITE® batch code is written as L30HAB0334, where L3 represents the site of manufacture, 0H represents the year and month of manufacture (Year - “0” is 2020, “9” is 2019, etc.).

Henkel Corporation does not re-certify expired product, but upon request Henkel can re-test products from a customer’s inventory, as a paid-for service. Please contact tech.services@henkel.com if you are interested in testing any expired products.
Once results are obtained, Henkel will provide detailed results to allow you to determine suitability of the batch for use in your application. Henkel Corporation will not extend a warranty on a batch beyond the original shelf-life of the product.
Henkel will not confirm whether the product and batch tested is “good” or “bad” or “de-certified”. What you are paying for is the LOCTITE® material specifications testing required, and a lab report documenting the lab project and the results. It is up to your own discretion to use or not the expired batch of products.
The information is not public. You need to call customer service to get the total shelf life of any product.

"Use by" date on our products is the point we warranty performance based on internal testing. After this point, we can no longer guarantee the performance of our products. The shelf-life is set for each product individually based on its chemistry and specific formulation, verified by physical testing and cannot be extended.
We cannot say exactly what goes out of specification for each material, so we do not recommend knowingly using out-of-date adhesive. If you have inadvertently used expired product, the best thing to do is self-certify by testing some of the parts that were put together with the expired material to make sure that the adhesive has performed to your specifications.
An adhesive has “fixtured” when the bond is strong enough that the assembly can be handled without compromising the longterm strength of the adhesive. On a lab scale, fixture time is equivalent to the time required for 1” wide lap shears bonded with a ½” overlap to support a 3 kg weight in shear mode for at least 5 seconds. For CA´s, this time is usually seconds. Full cure is achieved when the adhesive has reached its highest bond strength – for CA’s this is typically 24 hours.
If a substrate is dirty, your bond is only as strong as the adhesion of the contaminant to the part, not the adhesive to the part. Contaminants can come from machining, protecting, handling, manufacturing, facility surroundings, and even from cleaners used previously that have left a film. Just a slight oil film left behind on a substrate can reduce adhesive performance by as much as 60 percent.
What type of strengths is being desired? We have adhesives that have tensile strengths of 8,000 psi or higher. We also have adhesives that have superior impact and peel strength… make sure you know what type of force you are looking for.
The requirements need to be defined to determine the nature of flexibility required.
Henkel products are available in different viscosities, strength, and other qualities that fulfill most requirements. We would have to look at the requirements of the application to find the right fit.
We do accelerated ageing testing on our products – elevated temperature, heat, fatigue, and humidity exposure.
We refer customers to NASA outgassing page, as this is not a standard test we perform on Industrial products. If your product is not found in the list of products tested by NASA, you will have to run your own test.
