To protect and restore vehicle paint so it looks like new, try LOCTITE® PC 4400. This 1-part clear coating can be applied directly over existing paint, either spray-applied or wiped on with a pad applicator. It can be applied directly onto a newly painted surface (once cured) or onto mature paint (following degrease/dewax, sanding, and cleaning processes). It eliminates the lost time and quality risks associated with 2-part coatings and – as it repels water, dirt, oil and algae – extends paint life by up to 10 years. Key applications include agricultural equipment, construction, mining, utility vehicles, salt/plow trucks, specialty buses, rail, forestry, freight/ delivery trucks, garbage haulers, and specialty fleet vehicles.

How to use
Let the paint (basecoat) cure for at least 4 hours. Make sure no dust or any contaminants are deposited in the paint.
Spray or wipe-on directly over e-coat, primer, basecoat, or 2C top coat systems (epoxy, polyurethane or powder coating).
Apply 1-2 wet coats with 5-10 minutes between coats to allow for solvent evaporation. (Solvent Flash: allow 5-10 minutes). Avoid recoating after 20 minutes, as flow and leveling will be affected.
Recommended WFT: 1 - 2 mil (25 - 50 μm) per each wet coat.
Recommended DFT: 1 - 2 mil (25 - 50 μm)
1. Pre-apply LOCTITE PC4400/PC4410 to a microfiber cloth (make sure there is enough product for self-leveling).
2. Apply the product starting from the edges. Follow same linear pattern to wipe the panel.
3. If strikes appear apply more product to the microfiber cloth as many times as necessary.
4. Coat surface completely. If you get a “run”, just wipe on and keep going.
Degrease/dewax following regular procedures. Sand using 400 grit orbital sander, then solvent-clean using TEROSON® VR10 to remove excess debris.
Spray or wipe-on directly over sanded and cleaned surface.
Apply 1-2 wet coats with 5-10 minutes between coats to allow for solvent evaporation. (Solvent Flash: allow 5-10 minutes). Avoid recoating after 20 minutes, as flow and leveling will be affected.
Recommended WFT: 1 - 2 mil (25 - 50 μm) per each wet coat.

Repair any structural damage (rust or chipping) using two-component epoxy primer.
Faded “Non-Waxed” paint must be thoroughly cleaned using a degreaser, followed by water-rinse, and dry.
Faded “Waxed” - degrease/dewax paint then sand using 400 grit paper with orbital sander; solvent clean using TEROSON® VR 10 and dry.
Spray or wipe-on directly over sanded and cleaned surface.
Apply 1-2 wet coats with 5-10 minutes between coats to allow for solvent evaporation. (Solvent Flash: allow 5-10 minutes). Avoid recoating after 20 minutes, as flow and leveling will be affected.

Clean spray equipment immediately using paint thinner, MEK or acetone. Never clean spray equipment with water or alcohol.
For wipe-on application, let the applicator (microfiber cloth) fully cure to the air before proper disposal of the cloth.
FAQ
LOCTITE® PC 4400 is designed to protect surfaces against scratch, UV, high abrasion, salt and chemical exposure (e.g., due to extensive cleaning), where an initial sanding will be required for the surface preparation to extend paint life by up to 10 years. These unique features of LOCTITE PC 4400 are not intended for the conventional protective coating of a passenger car.
