A global medical device manufacturer was experiencing high scrap and labor costs in the assembly of their medical tubesets. Solvent welding was used to join the Ethyl Vinyl Acetate (EVA) tubing to several connector materials including PVC and ABS. Variability in the tubing dimension was resulting in a range of gaps that could not always by filled and securely bonded with the solvent process.
