LOCTITE® PC 9599 is a fast cure, general purpose ceramic filled epoxy designed to quickly protect, rebuild and repair processing equipment subjected to corrosion and wear. Works in less than half the time of conventional curing epoxies to rebuild, repair, and protect from hard sliding abrasion. Designed for rebuilding and protecting chutes, pumps, elbows, cyclones and other material handling equipment against wear and abrasion under typical dry service temperatures of -30 °C to +105 °C.

How to use
Remove dirt, oil, grease etc with a suitable high pressure water cleaning system using LOCTITE SF 7840 (LOCTITE® Natural Blue® cleaner/degreaser).
If possible, it is recommended that the surface be grit blasted to a Near White Metal (SSPC-SP10/NACE No. 2) standard.
After blasting, metal surfaces should be cleaned with a waterless LOCTITE® cleaner, e.g. LOCTITE SF 7365, SF 7063 or SF 7611 and allow the surface to dry before application of the product. Coat the surface before any oxidation or contamination takes place.
To avoid flash rust, repairs should be made as soon as possible. Otherwise, apply a thin coat of LOCTITE SF 7515 to all surfaces and allow to react for 1 minute. After 1 minute, blow off and dry the surface completely with clean and dry compressed air.
Measure 2 parts resin to 1 parts hardener by volume or weight. Transfer measured quantities or entire kit onto a clean and dry mixing surface and mix together with a trowel until uniform in color. If mixing larger quantities, a spiral mixing blade attached to a high torque electric or pneumatic drill can be used. If resin and hardener temperatures are 15°C or below, preheat resin only to about 32°C but not to exceed 38°C.
Apply fully mixed material to the prepared surface. With gloved hand, take a 25mm (1in) ball of mixed material and rub the surface to apply a scratch coat to wet out the surface and avoid air entrapment. Build up to desired thickness (minimum 6 mm), avoid air entrapment. At 25°C the working time is 10 minutes. Working and cure time depend on temperature and mass - the higher the temperature and the larger the mass, the faster the cure.
FAQ
A successful application is largely dependent on surface preparation. The application surface must be free from all contamination. Removal of oil, grease, dust, rust and for most products, moisture, will greatly enhance application success. For more detailed surface preparation techniques, refer to product description sheets.
If a part is cold and the ambient air is warm, cure time will be extended. Both the air and the part should be at room temperature to get the prescribed cure time and strength.
No, epoxy systems have been formulated to contain an exact amount of resin to react with an exact amount of hardener. If excess hardener is added, the resin will remain unreacted and the physical properties of the product will be negatively affected.
The use of solvent is not recommended due to the possibility of trapping the solvent in the cured systems, causing voids or soft spots.
Yes, Polymer Composites are packaged as kits in the exact ratio required. Partial kits, however, can be mixed if measured precisely.
Functional cure time varies with product type and application temperature. Refer to the product description sheets for individual product information.
