Acrylics can be two-part and two-step. If you have a two-part acrylic, you must purge and dispense to ensure that both sides are flowing.
In a 2-part adhesive, both components of the adhesive are mixed and dispensed through a single nozzle. It is still a ‘one-step’ dispense. The 2-step acrylics, the two components of the adhesive are two physically different parts that are applied in a two-step process.
Bonding surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from contamination, but extensive surface preparation is not required; a solvent wipe is usually sufficient. To assure maximum bond strength, surfaces should be joined within the adhesive's open time, and enough material should be applied to completely fill the joint when parts are clamped.
Good ventilation is essential as many MMAs emit a strong odour.
