LOCTITE® AA 3038 is a clear yellow/viscous straw, acryl-based adhesive for low-energy plastics. It's typically used for bonding e-coated metals (ECS) to glass fibre-filled polypropylenes (PPGF) but is also suitable for other low-energy substrates such as LDPE and HDPE and never requires surface pretreatment. Its thixotropic nature makes it easy to apply and reduces liquid migration after application. LOCTITE AA 3038 has a 4-minute working life and ≤70-minute fixture time (ECS to PPGF). It cures at room temperature and is temperature-resistant up to 100°C (212°F).

How to use
Store in the unopened container in a dry location at 8°C to 21°C.
Ensure bond surfaces are clean and free from grease before bonding.
Mix Part A and Part B according to the specified 1:10 volume ratio.
Dispense the adhesive components through a static mixer at room temperature.
Apply the adhesive to the prepared substrates and assemble the parts within the open time.
Allow the assembly to remain undisturbed until fixture strength is achieved.
Store the adhesive in unopened containers in a dry location.
Do not return material removed from containers to the original container.
FAQ
It is a 2-part acrylic adhesive designed primarily for bonding polypropylene and other low-energy plastics such as polyethylene.
It is designed to work without surface pre-treatment and can bond substrates such as LDPE and HDPE.
The correct mix ratio by volume is 1:10 Part A:Part B. LOCTITE® AA 3038 is designed to be dispensed from its dual cartridge using the supplied mixing nozzle which ensures accurate mixing during dispensing.
The typical open time after mixing is 4 minutes.
The room-temperature fixture time is typically 60-70 minutes. Smaller gaps and elevated temperatures can reduce fixture time.
LOCTITE® AA 3038 contains 0.25-mm spacer beads to control the bondline gap for optimum performance. However, it can be used on larger gaps up to 2-5 mm. Bonding larger gaps may result in extended fixture times.
