- Description
- Technical specification
LOCTITE® 4902 FL offers significant performance enhancements compared to standard cyanoacrylates, including strength in flexing bond lines and resistance to leaks, with excellent sealing capability. Known performance advantages of cyanoacrylates are maintained, including speed, ease of use and strength. The fluorescing property supports automated sensing and vision systems for ease of detection of adhesive coverage and placement, resulting in production efficiency and quality assurance.

How to use
It is recommended to use the correct LOCTITE® cleaner for the surface to be bonded (such as LOCTITE® SF 7070) to degrease and clean surfaces prior to applying the adhesive.
To improve adhesion on difficult to bond plastic surfaces, apply LOCTITE® SF 770 to the bond area by brushing or dipping. Avoid applying excess primer. Allow the primer to dry.
If cure speed is too slow, use activator LOCTITE® SF 7452 or LOCTITE® SF 7455 (see cure speed vs activator graph in TDS). Apply activator to one bond surface by spray, brush or dipping (not primed surfaces). Allow the activator to dry.
Apply adhesive onto one side/part.
Assemble parts immediately. The parts should be accurately located as the short fixture time leaves little opportunity for adjustment. Bond should be held or clamped until the adhesive has fixtured. Hint: if necessary, excess product can be cured by activator LOCTITE® SF 7452 or LOCTITE® SF 7455. Spray or drop activator onto excess product.
For precise dispensing of small amounts of adhesive, the use of dispensing needles is recommended.
FAQ
This is a result of stress cracking. Leaving uncured liquid CA remaining on some plastic substrates (such as polycarbonate, acrylic, and polysulfone) in a stressed condition, may cause the formation of cracks in the plastic. Some remedies for avoiding/minimizing stress cracking are closing the bond joint quickly, using reinforced grades of plastic, anneal parts, or speed cure the adhesive with accelerator or light (for light cure products only).
All necessary H&S measures and PPE (personal protection equipment) requirements can be found on the product material safety data sheet, all of which are available via our website.
This is called blooming. This often occurs when there is an excessive amount of product being applied. To avoid blooming, use proper ventilation, less product, lower humidity, use a primer/accelerator, or a low bloom product.
Yes, instant adhesives should be stored in the refrigerator prior to opening, but DO NOT refrigerate them once they have already been opened. After opening, the product should be used within 30 days for best performance.
