Conformal coating applied on the circuit board

Summary

High-power electronics are the engine of modern life. They control automated factories, deliver extraordinary mobility, and fuel energy systems. Often subjected to demanding industrial conditions, exposed to harsh chemicals, or housed in unpredictable outdoor environments, power electronics require resilience. Today’s electronics are more powerful, the environments more challenging, and the expectations higher than ever. Conformal coating materials must address these realities.

To tackle these challenges and satisfy the intersecting demands of regulatory agency-certified performance, processing ease, environmental protection, and human safety, Henkel is introducing LOCTITE STYCAST CC 8555. A high-performance conformal coating material that protects electronics in harsh industrial environments. The material’s ability to safeguard printed circuit boards (PCBs) and components within challenging conditions is verified by its UL 746E RTI rating at 130°C, UL 94 V-0 flammability rating, and resistance to corrosive gases. The one-component, dual-cure (UV and moisture) conformal coating is solvent-free, has good wetting and flow characteristics, and provides excellent electrical performance.
