- Description
- Technical specification
LOCTITE® 567 is a white, 1-part thread sealant designed for the locking and sealing of tapered metal pipe threads and fittings. As an anaerobic-curing thread sealant, it cures when confined in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage due to shock and vibration. Its high lubricating properties prevent galling on stainless steel, aluminium and all other metal pipe threads, and allow easy disassembly. The product offers high temperature performance and oil tolerance. And it tolerates minor surface contamination from various oils, such as cutting, lubrication, anti-corrosion and protection fluids.
Meets the performance requirements of KIWA GASTEC QA AR 214 for admixtures up to and including 100% hydrogen gas – certifications are available in select countries.

How to use
Cleaning - It is recommended to use LOCTITE® SF 7063/7064 to degrease and clean surfaces prior to applying adhesive. If cure speed is too slow due to passive metals (stainless steel, aluminium and plated metals) or low temperature (below 5°C), apply activator LOCTITE® SF 7240 or LOCTITE® SF 7649 (see cure speed vs activator graph in the TDS).
If cure speed is too slow due to passive metals (stainless steel, aluminum and plated metals) or low temperatures (below 5°C), use LOCTITE® SF 7649 activator. Allow to dry.
Apply a 360° bead to the leading male thread, leaving the first thread free. For bigger threads, apply both on male and female threads. For manual dispensing the use of a peristaltic handgun is recommended to ensure a consistent application volume.
Assemble fittings using wrench tightening in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations.
Disassemble with standard hand tools. If not possible, apply localised heat to approximately 260°C and disassemble while hot. For corroded or seized parts, use LOCTITE® LB 8040 Freeze and Release.
FAQ
The standard continuous operating temperature range for LOCTITE® anaerobic adhesives is -55˚C to +150˚C.
Depending on the specific application requirements, high-performance grades are also available offering increased temperature resistance. Please consult with the Henkel technical team for availability and grade selection.
Yes, Henkel anaerobic adhesives become highly resistant thermoset polymers once cured, making them suitable for a vast number of applications. Consult the online product resources or contact our technical teams for further information.
Henkel has a number of products available with varying levels of NSF® and WRAS® approval, amongst others. Please contact the Henkel sales or technical teams with your requirements.
All adhesives are compatible with metal substrates although bond strength and durability will vary depending on the technology selected. Anaerobic adhesives may cause stress-cracking in some sensitive polymers and therefore should generally be avoided on plastic parts. Consult Henkel technical teams for further advice as needed.
Care must be taken when using adhesives to seal against pure oxygen systems. LOCTITE® 577 and LOCTITE® 55 have BAM approval and can be considered for such applications.
