- Description
- Technical specification
LOCTITE® AA 330 / LOCTITE® SF 7386 KIT is a 2-part, yellow to light amber adhesive kit. LOCTITE AA 330 is a thixotropic, non-sagging instant adhesive. LOCTITE SF 7386 is a solvent-based activator that initiates the curing of LOCTITE® acrylic adhesives. The kit is used for bonding metal (e.g. steel, aluminum), wood, ferrite, ceramics and rigid plastics. It is particularly used for tool handles, appliances, sporting goods, and decorative trim.

How to use
1. Ensure bonding surfaces are clean and free from grease, excessive oil, loose oxide layers, and other contaminants.
2. Apply LOCTITE® SF 7386® activator to one bonding surface. For large gaps or faster curing, apply to both surfaces.
3. Apply LOCTITE® AA 330® adhesive to the opposing bonding surface. Recommended bondline gap is 0.1 mm.
4. Hold or clamp the assembly until the adhesive has fixtured (typically 3-5 minutes) and allow to develop full strength before subjecting to any service loads (typically 24 to 72 hours after assembly, depending on bond gap, materials and ambient conditions).
5. Remove excess adhesive with an organic solvent if required.
FAQ
LOCTITE® SF 7386® is an activator designed to initiate and promote the cure of LOCTITE® toughened acrylic adhesives, including LOCTITE® AA 330®.
LOCTITE® AA 330® is used to bond metal, wood, ferrite, ceramic, and plastic materials.
No. LOCTITE® AA 330® is a 1-part adhesive that requires no pre-mixing. Curing is initiated when the adhesive, applied to one surface, comes into contact with an activator such as LOCTITE® SF 7386® applied to the mating surface.
Both surfaces should be activated when bond gaps are large (>0.5mm) or when maximum cure speed is required.
LOCTITE® SF 7386® remains active for up to 6 hours after application.
On degreased steel using LOCTITE® AA 330® with LOCTITE® SF 7386 activator achieves fixture in 3-4 minutes. Fixture time is dependent on the gap between the bonding surfaces and ambient temperature.
The recommended bondline gap is 0.1 mm, with larger gaps up to 0.5 mm supported when both surfaces are activated.
No. The activator and adhesive should never be mixed directly as liquids and must be applied separately.
Store in unopened containers in a dry location at 8°C to 21°C. LOCTITE® SF 7386® is highly flammable and should be stored accordingly.
