- Description
- Technical specification
LOCTITE® AA 326 is a general purpose, 2-step, high-viscosity acrylic adhesive for fast cure and high shear strength. It has good adhesion to different types of ferrites, a fixture time of less than 3 minutes, a high shear strength of 15 N/mm² and can be used in temperatures up to 120°C (248°F). It requires LOCTITE® SF 7649 to activate and, among other applications, is perfect for magnet-bonding electric motors used in elevator production.

How to use
For best performance, bond surfaces should be clean and free from contaminants, including grease.
To ensure a fast and reliable cure, apply Activator 7649TM to one of the bond surfaces and the adhesive to the other surface. Assemble parts within 15 minutes. The recommended bondline gap is 0.1 mm. For larger bond gaps (up to a maximum of 0.5 mm) or faster cure speed, apply Activator 7649TM to both surfaces and assemble parts immediately (within 1 minute). Excess adhesive can be wiped away with an organic solvent. The bond should be held clamped until the adhesive has fixtured. Allow the product to develop full strength before subjecting it to any service loads, typically 24 to 72 hours after assembly, depending on bond gap, materials, and ambient conditions.
FAQ
Yes, For best performance, bond surfaces should be clean and free from contaminants. Cleaning parts prior to bonding should involve residue-free cleaners.
LOCTITE® AA 326 should be stored in its unopened container in a dry location. Storage information may be indicated on the product container labeling. For optimal storage, maintain a temperature between 8°C and 21°C. Storing below 8°C or above 28°C can adversely affect the product properties. Material removed from containers may be contaminated during use; do not return product to the original container.
defined as the time required for the adhesive/activator combination to develop sufficient
The tensile strength of this product is 24 N/mm² on grit-blasted steel after curing for 7 days at 23°C and testing after 24 hours using the ISO 6922 test method, and 34 N/mm² after curing for 7 days at 23°C using the ISO 527-2 test method.
LOCTITE® AA 326is recommended for aluminum substrate, anaerobic cure, electric motors, ferrite substrate, jewelry, loud speaker, metal substrate, and steel substrate.
