- Description
- Technical specification
LOCTITE® EA 9514 is a grey opaque, high-impact, toughened epoxy adhesive system for a variety of substrates. It’s typically used for applications that require toughness and impact resistance, such as filter and magnet bonding. Its thixotropic nature makes it easy to apply and highly suitable for gap-filling up to 3.0 mm. LOCTITE EA 9514 cures when exposed to heat, either by induction heating or conventional means, to form a rigid bond with a high shear- and peel strength, good chemical resistance and reliable performance in high-temperature environments up to 200°C (392°F).

How to use
Store in a dry location. Optimal storage temperature is 2°C to 8°C in the unopened container.
Ensure bonding surfaces are clean, dry and free from grease before application.
Dispense the adhesive directly from the cartridge using the supplied nozzle.
Avoid curing large quantities at once to minimise heat build-up and uncontrolled exothermic reactions.
Apply the adhesive evenly to the bonding surfaces.
Assemble the parts immediately after adhesive application.
Remove uncured excess adhesive using an organic solvent such as acetone.
Cure the adhesive according to the recommended curing schedule.
Keep assembled parts from moving during cure and allow full strength to develop before loading.
Clean mixing and application equipment with hot soapy water before the adhesive hardens.
FAQ
It is a toughened 1-part heat-curing epoxy adhesive designed for rigid bonding applications requiring high shear and peel strength with impact resistance.
Whilst primarily intended for bonding metals including mild steel, stainless steel, zinc dichromate, aluminium, brass and hot-dip galvanised steel, it can also be used on multi-substrate applications, bonding ceramics or fibre-reinforced composite materials.
LOCTITE® EA 9514 cures when exposed to appropriate levels of heat, with recommended minimum curing temperature of 120°C for 60 minutes. Refer to the TDS for appropriate curing conditions.
The product supports bond gaps up to 3.0 mm.
It provides high shear and peel strength, excellent impact resistance, sag resistance and suitability for a wide variety of substrates.
