Acrylics can be two part and two step. If you have a two-part acrylic, you must bump and purge to make sure that both sides are flowing.
In a 2-part adhesive, both parts of the adhesive will be mixed and dispensed out of one nozzle. It is still a ‘one-step’ dispense. The 2-step acrylics, the 2 parts of the adhesive are 2 physically different parts that are used in a two-step process.
Bonding surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of contamination, but extensive surface preparation is not required; a solvent wipe is good enough. To assure maximum bond strength, surfaces must be mated within the adhesive's open time, and enough material must be used to completely fill the joint when parts are clamped.
Good ventilation is necessary as a lot of MMA’s give off a strong smell.
