LOCTITE® RB EV 9745 is a high-performance, 1-component butyl rubber sealant specially designed for seamless application in EV battery packs. It requires no surface preparation and offers permanent tackiness along with exceptional multi-substrate adhesion. Its high elasticity ensures strong, reliable pressure sealing against water and gas. Ideal as a secondary sealing option, it complements formed gaskets to provide enhanced protection and long-lasting durability for EV battery packs.

How to use
Remove the lower cap of the cartridge and pierce the upper membrane to access the sealant, then attach the application nozzle.
Place the cartridge in the TEROSON® POWERLINE II Air Cartridge Gun or a similar application tool.
Dispense and discard the first 2 cm of sealant to ensure a clean application.
Apply LOCTITE® RB EV 9745 directly to the battery tray, preferably in a continuous pass.
Carefully place the battery cover on the battery housing, ensuring the sealant is well pressed in place.
Note: The cover must be installed within the 15-minute processing time.
Insert the fasteners into their designated holes and evenly tighten to ensure uniform pressure. Make sure the cord remains in its designated position.
Carry out an airtightness test with special testing equipment to meet the initial IP 67 requirements. You can do this directly after assembly of the cover.

The substrates to which this product is applied, such as the battery tray or lid, should be dry and free from contaminants like dust, grease, or other substances that may inhibit adhesion. For optimal adhesion, we recommend using our professional cleaner, TEROSON® VR 10 [link to VR10], to thoroughly clean the surfaces. This product offers excellent adhesion to various substrates, including steel, aluminum, and composites such as SMC. For more detailed information, please refer to the TDS.
LOCTITE® RB EV 9745 does not require chemical curing. When dispensed, a small amount of solvent evaporates physically, allowing immediate air leakage testing or other ingress protection tests to be conducted. The seal and protection are developed right after the assembly of the EV battery pack, significantly saving time and improving workshop efficiency. For more information, please contact us.
