LOCTITE® 472 is a high-performance instant adhesive designed for fast, strong and durable component bonding across a wide range of plastics and metals. Its performance is optimised for mixed-material assemblies and it provides impact resistance and robust, durable performance after exposure to harsh environmental conditions. When combined with LOCTITE® SF 772 primer, it becomes a two-step system delivering fast fixture speed and reliable adhesion on challenging polyolefin surfaces and mixed-material combinations, with optimised bond strength for polyolefin-to-metal applications. Formulated without known carcinogens, mutagens or reproductive toxins (CMRs), LOCTITE 472 has DIN CERTCO certification for 20%-50% bio-based carbon content.

How to use
Clean the bond areas so they are free from grease. Clean all surfaces with a LOCTITE cleaning solvent and allow them to dry.
For low-energy-plastic surfaces, apply LOCTITE® SF 772 Primer to the bond area to improve bonding. Avoid applying excess primer and allow it to dry.
If necessary, apply LOCTITE Activator to 1 bond surface and allow it to dry. When primer is also used, do not apply activator to the primed surface.
Apply the adhesive to 1 bond surface but not to the activated surface. Do not use tissue, a brush or similar items to spread the adhesive.
Assemble and accurately locate the parts within a few seconds because the short fixture time leaves little opportunity for adjustment. Hold the bond fixed or clamped until the adhesive has fixtured. To cure excess product outside the bond area, spray or drop LOCTITE Activator onto it.
Allow the bond to develop full strength before applying service loads, typically 24 to 72 hours after assembly, depending on bond gap, materials and ambient conditions.
