LOCTITE® TFX 3010 is a 2-component, SMP-based, silicone-free thermal gap filler specifically designed for high-performance thermal management in EV batteries. How to use
Using a plastic spatula (metal could damage the cooling plate), remove any remaining thermal gap filler from the cooling plate.
Clean the cooling plate with TEROSON® VR 10 and a lint-free cloth.
Open the LOCTITE® TFX 3010 thermal gap filler cartridges A+B by removing the lower cap and piercing the upper membrane. Connect them to the manifold. For faster dispensing, both cartridges can be preheated in the TEROSON® Cartridge Preheating Box at 60°C (for at least 15 minutes, up to a maximum of 60 minutes). Remove the lower cap before preheating.
Insert the cartridges into the LOCTITE® EQ HD 16 2C Pneumatic Dispenser and secure them using the locking mechanism.
Gently squeeze the trigger and dispense a small amount of material, ensuring that both components A and B are dispensed evenly.
Attach the static mixer to the dispenser and dispense approximately 5 cm of product before use to ensure even mixing of the two components.
Position the OEM-specific application template on the cooling plate.
Apply LOCTITE® TFX 3010 Thermal Gap Filler smoothly and evenly into the application template according to the OEM's instructions, keeping the tip of the static mixer embedded in the material to avoid trapping air.
Carefully remove the application template from the battery tray and clean it using TEROSON® VR 10 and a lint-free cloth.
Place the battery module on the applied thermal gap filler within the 60-minute working time and press it evenly into its final position. Secure the module with the original fasteners. If you see gap filler at the edges of the battery module, you have applied sufficient force and the correct amount of material. Reconnect the electronics to the new battery module.

LOCTITE® TFX 3010 has a low lap shear, meaning it exhibits low adhesion and can be easily removed from substrates such as cooling plates or battery modules. This feature allows technicians to rework, adjust, or remove the dispensed material with ease, ensuring proper repair. Even after the product has fully cured, it remains simple to disassemble and remove, making it highly serviceable if the battery pack needs to be reopened.
It is NOT recommended to reuse LOCTITE® TFX 3010 in an EV battery system. Any minor defects or tears in the old thermal gap filler may create voids and gaps, compromising thermal management effectiveness and potentially causing heat transfer failure. For optimal performance, always use new LOCTITE® TFX 3010 for repairs.
LOCTITE® TFX 3010 spreads easily and requires minimal compressive force when the modules are assembled onto cooling plates and compressed.
