- Description
- Technical specification
LOCTITE® HY 4070 Universal Bonder is a 2-part, fast fixturing, cyanoacrylate/acrylic-hybrid adhesive that performs brilliantly on various substrates, including most plastics, rubbers and metals. It’s designed for the assembly of parts with bond gaps of up to 5 mm (0.2") and for applications where the complete cure of excess adhesive is a must. It has a gel consistency, which prevents adhesive flow even on vertical surfaces. Ideal for applications where temperature and moisture resistance are required. Best application results are achieved with use of the LOCTITE® cyanoacrylate mixing nozzle.

How to use
It is recommended to use the correct LOCTITE® cleaner for the surface to be bonded (such as LOCTITE® SF 7063 or SF 7070) to degrease and clean surfaces prior to applying the adhesive.
Place plunger in the back of the cartridge. Remove cap from cartridge. Dispense a small amount so that material is coming out of both sides. Attach mix nozzle and dispense a bead at least half of the length of the nozzle. The material is ready to use.
Apply a bead of material to one of the surfaces to be bonded. Join the parts and fixture in a way to prevent movement of the part until handling strength is obtained.
FAQ
A hybrid is a mix of two adhesive chemistries. For example, the LOCTITE HY 4070 product is a cyanoacrylate/methacrylate mix.
Yes, hybrids are two-part products. Bumping and purging ensures product is flowing from both sides and mix at the proper mix ratio.
LOCTITE® HY 4070 is available in a 11gram 10:1 plastic syringe, supplied with a plunger and 4 nozzles. Additional nozzles are available in bags of 5 (IDH 1434516). LOCTITE® HY 4070 is also available in a 45gram 10:1 dual cartridges. Mix nozzles and dispense gun are not included with this package size.
No, it is not recommended to use LOCTITE HY 4070 for bonding to glass.
Refrigerated storage is not required for this adhesive. Refer to the product TDS for recommended storage.
Henkel has a number of products available with varying levels of NSF® and WRAS® approval, amongst others. Please contact the Henkel sales or technical teams with your requirements.
All adhesives are compatible with metal substrates although bond strength and durability will vary depending on the technology selected. Anaerobic adhesives may cause stress-cracking in some sensitive polymers and therefore should generally be avoided on plastic parts. Consult Henkel technical teams for further advice as needed.
All necessary H&S measures and PPE (personal protection equipment) requirements can be found on the product material safety data sheet, all of which are available via our website.
