- Description
- Technical specification
LOCTITE® EA 9466 is an off-white opaque/yellowish (after mixing), multipurpose epoxy adhesive system with a high peel and shear strength. It cures at room temperature to form a tough bond line that acts as an excellent electrical insulator and is resistant to a wide range of chemicals and solvents. It’s designed for applications that requires a high bond strength and an extended work life that makes it possible to adjust parts during assembly.

How to use
1. Store in an unopened container in a dry location at 8°C to 21°C.
2. Clean bonding surfaces and remove grease before application.
3. Remove paint, oxide films, oils, dust, mold release agents and other contaminants for high-strength bonds.
4. Mix resin and hardener thoroughly according to the specified ratio for approximately 15 seconds after a uniform color is achieved.
5. Do not mix more than 4 kg at once to minimize heat build-up.
6. Apply the mixed adhesive as quickly as possible and spread evenly across one or both bonding surfaces.
7. Assemble parts immediately after applying the mixed adhesive.
8. Keep assembled parts from moving during cure and allow 24 hours before applying service loads.
9. Remove uncured adhesive using an organic solvent such as acetone.
10. Clean dispensing and mixing equipment with hot soapy water before the adhesive hardens.
FAQ
It is a toughened industrial-grade 2-part epoxy adhesive for bonding plastics and metals in general industrial applications requiring extended work life for part adjustment during assembly.
The correct mix ratio is 2:1 by volume and by weight (resin to hardener).
The mixed adhesive provides a typical working life of 60 minutes.
The cured adhesive offers high peel resistance, high shear strength, chemical and solvent resistance, and electrical insulation properties.
The typical fixture time on grit blasted steel is 180 minutes.
