- Description
- Technical specification
TEROSON® MS 9380 is a moisture-cured, high viscosity, sag-resistant silane modified polymer adhesive paste, which cures to an elastic product. It is free of solvents, isocyanates, silicones and PVC. It demonstrates good adhesion to many substrates. The sealant also demonstrates good UV resistance and can be used for interior and exterior applications.

How to use
The substrates must be clean, dry, and free of any oil, grease or mould-release agents used in the manufacturing process. Depending on the surface it may be necessary to roughen the surface or to use a primer/adhesion promoter to optimise adhesion. Due to the different compositions of paints, especially powder paints and the large number of different substrates, application trials before use are necessary. For cleaning, TEROSON® VR 10 or TEROSON® SB 450 from the Henkel portfolio are suitable. TEROSON® SB 450 is especially recommended when bonding difficult-to-bond plastics and powder-coated parts. Care should be taken when bonding plastics sensitive to stress-cracking such as PMMA (e.g. Plexiglas®) and PC (e.g. Makrolon® or Lexan®). Application trials before use are necessary. There is no adhesion to polyethylene, polypropylene and PTFE. Substrates not mentioned above should be subject to trials.
Application from cartridges is made with the TEROSON® Hand or Air Pressure Pistols, and from foil cartridges with the corresponding FK-Hand or FK-Air Pressure Pistols. In the case of compressed air application, a pressure of 2 to 5 bar is required. Low material temperatures of the sealant will lead to an increase of viscosity, resulting in a lower extrusion rate. This can be avoided by bringing the sealant up to room temperature prior to application. TEROSON® MS 9380 can also be applied from hobbocks or drums with high pressure pumps with follower plates. See separate application directions of TEROSON® MS products in hobbocks and drums.
For cleaning application equipment contaminated with uncured TEROSON® MS 9380 we recommend the use of TEROSON® VR 10.
FAQ
TEROSON® MS 9380 has a shelf life of 12 months in unopened original packaging. Henkel does not advocate using TEROSON® MS 9380 beyond the recommended shelf life and is unable to recertify material that has expired.
Yes, for optimum adhesion all bonding surfaces should be clean, dry and free of contaminants such as oil, rust and grease. TEROSON® SB 450 can be used as a cleaner and adhesion promoter for difficult-to-bond materials.
TEROSON® MS 9380 is not frost-sensitive and should be stored at a recommended temperature of 10 to 25°C.
The Tensile Strength of this product is approximately 4 MPa, measured under ISO 37.
TEROSON® MS 9380 will be recommended for a wide range of applications, including air-conditioning systems, assembly processes, caravans, containers, and both elastic exterior and interior seams. It is also ideal for electrical applications, metal construction, seaming applications, and plastics, providing flexible, durable bonding. This product is well-suited for use in railway carriages, vehicle body assembly, sidepanelling, and ventilation industries, ensuring strong, long-lasting seals and bonds in these environments.
