When you’re working with parts that need regular dismantling – retention of bearings on shafts and in housings, for example – try LOCTITE® 641. This medium-strength anaerobic retaining compound cures when confined in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage due to shock and vibration.

How to use
For best performance bond surfaces should be clean and free of dirt, dust, oil and any other contaminants. Use LOCTITE® SF 7070, solvent based general parts cleaners, for surface pre-treatment.
If the material is an inactive metal or the cure speed is too slow, spray with LOCTITE® SF 7471 or LOCTITE® SF 7649 and allow to dry
Apply adhesive around the leading edge of the pin and the inside of the collar and use a rotating motion during assembly to ensure good coverage
Apply adhesive thoroughly to both bond surfaces and assemble at high press on rates.
The adhesive should be coated onto the pin, the collar should then be heated to create sufficient clearance for free assembly
Apply localized heat to the assembly to approximately 250°C. Disassemble while hot.
Cured product can be removed with a combination of soaking in a LOCTITE® solvent and mechanical abrasion such as a wire brush
