LOCTITE^® AA 5821 is a dark grey form-in-place gasketing adhesive, resistant to oil and non-permeable to hydrocarbons. It’s typically used for flange sealing cast metal, stamped steel, and moulded plastic covers for engines, transmissions and axles. But it also works well for sealing plastic and metal housings on electronic components. It cures at room temperature when exposed to moisture, leaving a non-sagging and joint movement-tolerant material. It’s based on a non-silicone polyacrylate resin and has a heavy body viscosity allowing for online, low-air pressure tests to be carried out before it begins the curing process.
